Helena Modjeska Historic House

Do you know about all the wonderful program the OC Parks has to offer? Helena Madjeska Historic House tour is one of them.

Today we attended just one of the many program's offered by the OC Parks. They have all kinds of wonderful programs for young and old to get people outside and in to nature.

When we pulled into the driveway of this tucked away home on the banks of the Santiago Creek in Modjeska Canyan, we were warmly welcomed by the OC park rangers and volunteers. We took advantage of the opportunity to explore the garden and grounds before our tour and class started.

They have all kinds of flowers all over the garden and friendly volunteers are more than willing to share their knowledge of these flowers with you. The photographer in me could not wait to capture photos of each and every one of them, especially with the fresh rain still on their leaves.

Next, we moved on to a tour of the Shakespearean Polish actresses home and learnt a little about her history. The County still put on a Shakespearean plays in her home that you can come watch for free. All you have to do is sign up on the lets go outside website.

Finally, we enjoyed a class on how to make lavender wands. These wands smell so wonderful and will make any closet smell like a dream.

Here's the link if you want to try and make your own lavender wands at home.
