My Story
Hi, I'm Alida, Founder of Genius Momz
I started Genius Momz so I could share with you all the things I love most.

I grew up in South Africa and travelled to the United States to attend College many years ago, when I met and married my husband and started my own family. I've lived in several States of America including New York, Michigan but am lucky to currently call Southern California home.
​
We have been home-schooling since 2016, which we sort of fell into, but have never looked back. I want to share with you all the interesting, informative and sometimes weird things I found to make our home-schooling life a lot easier, and the actual learning part - a lot of fun.
​
I will also expand on the home-school curriculum and share with you all the adventures we go on, from day trips to traveling. I feel it's important to get my teen out in nature and take a break from our busy every day life, but mostly to see her show interest in something other than YouTube and life online. So zero internet connection is paramount on all our camping adventures.

When I am not trying to outsmart and home-school a very moody teen, I spend my time as a freelance photographer and graphic designer. I also love to cook and come up with all kinds of new recipe's. I love sharing my skills in the kitchen with my daughter and can see that same love for cooking growing in her. Now if we can just get the love for cleaning up after to grow them everything would be gold.
